Nero 7 is a burning suite that can be used to create both CD and DVD discs. If you want to burn a movie to DVD that requires more than a standard 4.7 GB DVD-R, Nero 7 can burn the movie to a dual layer disc. A dual layer DVD-R offers 8.5GB of space, which is enough storage space for copying any DVD. To burn a dual layer DVD in Nero 7, use the same method as burning a standard DVR.

Place a dual layer DVD into the DVD drive of your computer. You do not need a special burning drive. Most computer DVD drives can burn to either single or dual layer discs.
Open Nero Burning ROM on your computer. Nero Burning ROM is one of the burning programs contained in the Nero 7 burning suite. To access Burning ROM, click "Start," "All Programs," the "Nero" folder and then click "Nero Burning ROM."
Click the "DVD-Video" option in the left pane of Nero 7 Burning ROM to open the DVD-burning wizard in the right-pane. Several tabs display at the top of the Burning ROM window.
Go to the "Label" tab. Type a name for the DVD project into the box provided.
Switch to the "Burn" tab. Click the box next to "Write" and click "New."
Navigate to the folder where the movie file you want to burn is stored in the left pane to display the contents of the folder in the right pane. If the folder contains multiple files that you want to burn to the disc, and no additional files, you can select all of the files at one time by right-clicking the first file in the list and choosing the "Select All" option. Once selected, right-click again and choose "Copy to Compilation."
Select the drive that contains the dual layer DVD in the "Drive" menu if Nero 7 didn't select the appropriate drive already, and click the "Burn" button. Select a burn speed no greater than "4x" to prevent skips in the dual layer and click "Burn" again. When Nero 7 Burning Rom finishes burning the disc, the "Burn process completed successfully" message appears and the dual layer disc ejects from the DVD drive.
Tips and warnings
- The other taps in the DVD-burning wizard allow you to customise the disc in Nero 7 Burning ROM. It is not necessary to make changes on these tabs for the disc to burn, however, and the default settings should work in most circumstances.
