People love to be surprised with roses at any time or occasion. The rose is a symbol of love and even a paper towel rose will pleasantly surprise any woman or even your romantic guy. You can quickly make this for a date while she is in the rest room or when she steps into another room to make a quick phone call. This is a delightful craft children will enjoy making for their mom, favourite aunt or grandma and is simple enough to be a project they can make during long car trips.

- Plain or colourful paper towel
Fold the edge of a paper towel down approximately 2 inches; this portion will be the rose bud. If it is a thick paper towel, you can skip this step.
Place your index finger and middle finger on the edge of the paper towel in the area you folded.
Start to roll the paper towel over your fingers to form a coil. This will be the inner portion of the rose.
Remove your fingers and continue to coil the edge tightly to form a rosebud about 2 inches in length.
Pinch the paper together at the bottom of the rosebud, where you folded the paper down.
Allow the rest of the paper towel to coil along with the rosebud, but make sure the rosebud portion does not flatten. You may have to stick your finger back in it to fluff it out.
Grip the bottom portion of the rose, pinch, and twist it together. How large it is really depends on your paper towel and what you prefer.
Twist the remaining paper towel very tightly together. This will form the stem of the rose.
Form a leaf by fluffing out a portion of the stem area if you desire. Then continue rolling the paper towel tightly until you have the stem the way you want it. Surprise someone with the paper towel rose.
