One way to spruce up the look of your vehicle is by applying auto decals to the doors or bumper of the car. The best thing about the decals is that they are not permanent and they can easily be removed when you get tired of them or simply want to replace them with another decal. Only a few tools are needed and you most likely have most of them in your home already.
- Skill level:
Things you need
- Hair dryer
- Putty knife
- Adhesive remover solution
- Terry cloths
Heat the decal with the hair dryer. Doing this will warm the adhesive on the back of the decal lettering, allowing you to pry it off of the surface more easily.
Gently scrape the decal off the surface. Place the putty knife under the edge of the decal and begin to push underneath it until it lifts off.
Dampen a terry cloth towel with an adhesive remover solution such as Goo Gone and then wipe it over the area where the decal was applied. Make sure you remove the entire leftover adhesive so the surface is smooth. You should not be able to tell that there was once a decal in that spot.
Allow the area to air dry.
