How to Apply for Sponsorship for Junior Golf Tournaments

Golf is one of the most competitive individual sports anyone can choose to play. The Professional Golf Association represents the best of the best and nearly every player's career started by competing in junior golf tournaments. Playing in junior tournaments can be a very expensive proposition and there are sponsorships available through the game and its main supporters to help young players continue their careers.

  1. 1

    Play in one or two competitive tournaments in your area and perform well. This will give you the background to go to the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) and begin a competitive junior career, which will enable you to apply for a grant from the organisation The AJGA offers sponsorships for young golfers in its Achieving Competitive Excellence (ACE) program. These grants are available to promising golfers regardless of their financial situation.

    Apply for a junior golf scholarship with Titleist, a noted golf ball manufacturer and title sponsor for the AJGA. Titleist has been the national sponsor for the AJGA since 1989 and helps junior golfers compete by providing resources that enable them to play on the tour.

    Go to AJGA corporate sponsors for sponsorship opportunities. Many of these corporations have helped young players build their skills with sponsorships and scholarships. Some also award sponsorships for the junior player of the year and the junior All-America teams.

    Apply to the Future College Golf Association (FCGA) for help. The FCGA has 14 advertisers that will help junior golfers progress in their careers by offering them sponsorships. The FCGA helps qualified junior golfers with sponsorships and scholarships that help them play college golf.
