Put on your thong, boy shorts, or other panties before you step into or fasten on your garter belt. Pull the garter belt up and arrange it with the hanging garters to the outer side and back of each thigh or the outer side, back and front of each thigh if your garter belt has six garters. Adjust the length of the garters if necessary for a good fit.
Open each of the garter clips. Push the backside of the clip upward, toward the elastic garter, then pull the back away from the front of the clip.
Roll the stocking carefully, then gently unroll it onto the leg. Use extra care if you are wearing fully fashioned nylon stockings as opposed to modern stretch stockings.
Clip the front and side garters onto your stocking, pressing the round protrusion into the fabric and gently pulling in a downward direction to lock the garter clip into place on your stockings. Reach between your legs and grasp the back garter strap with one hand. Use your other hand to hold the stocking into place. Clip the back garter onto the stocking.
Repeat for the other leg, then straighten your stockings. Check seamed stockings to make sure your seams are quite straight.
