How to tie a head scarf for cancer patients

Cancer is a rough situation for anyone. Adding to the pain, hurt, and sometimes anger is embarrassing hair loss. One way to cope with this hair loss is by using a headscarf to cover your head. It is a nice alternative to wigs, which can be hot and itchy. Here is a step by step guide on how to tie a headscarf for cancer patients. This type of headscarf is called a tiechel, and these instructions tie the scarf into a knotted bun, which is a good option for a woman.

Lay the scarf square on a table. Turn it 90 degrees to make it into a diamond shape. Fold it in half to create a triangle.

Place the scarf directly onto your scalp. Allow one corner to hang down your back and the other two corners to fall over your shoulders.

Take the two front corners and cross them behind your head, under the back corner and tie them together once.

Tuck the back corner underneath the knot you just made.

Wrap the two remaining corners around the knot until all that is left is the end pieces. Tuck the end pieces under the knot and the scarf is now in place.

Tip

Pick scarves that accentuate your eyes or simply beautiful scarves that make you smile. Remember, you are still beautiful, even without your hair.

Warning

Do, however, note the fabric used in making the scarves. Your skin is very sensitive right now, and if there are sequins or other added decorative items on the fabric, it may irritate your skin. Rub the fabric against your skin before you buy it to see how it feels. If it does not feel good, pick another scarf. You deserve to have one that not only looks good, but feels good too.
