Hi, I'm Michael White with Four Seasons Lawn Care. Today, we're going to be talking about how to prepare the soil for your lawn. First, you will need information about your soil and by doing that you need to get a soil sample. Here is what we call a soil analysis. We find that this particular soil that we're going to be treating or preparing this morning has a low pH balance. So therefore, we want to bring the pH up by using lime. So at this time, we're going to pour some lime into a hopper and treat this soil for lime to bring up the pH. That's the first step in preparing the soil for your lawn. Before you add your dolomite, make sure that your site is free of debris, stumps, anything that will prohibit the root system from going deep down into the soil. This is critical to establishing a beautiful healthy lawn. When applying lime, make sure you use a nice spreader. Make sure that you calibrate it so that you're getting enough lime out per thousand square feet. Most of that should be on your bag from whatever supplier that you do purchase it from. When spreading, make sure you get off to a good start then open the hopper and let it flow and here's how we do this. I'm Michael White, Four Season Lawn Care and that's how to prepare lawn soil. Remember, we put the care back in lawn care, Thank you.
