Hi, I'm Michael Weisner. I'm an animator, 2-D illustrator and graphic designer and today I'm going to show you how to draw a necktie. Let's get started. First, you're going to want to get paper and a writing utensil. Now, I've already roughed out today's image with a light graded pencil just to save time. First, whenever you start drawing a necktie, you want to first draw a neck. So, I'm going to draw a nice little lady's neck, the lower part of her jaw just to give you guys a better idea of where the placement is going to be, and I'm going to throw in some hair, a quick mouth drawing and a nose. Okay, now we've got that set up, throw in a collar, two quick triangles and then we're going to start by wrapping our necktie around her neck. And you notice I got a little wiggly over here. That's for the detail work, which you are going to put little bends and folds into the tie because it is cloth, remember that. Then we add the knot and another knot right there. Then we add the bottom part of the tie itself, which is the tail or the main body. Then you add a loop right here at the center of it to show that there's a fold inside of it, because remember this is a giant knot right here. Then we add the rest of the collar and throw in a bit more detail, and there you go. That is our necktie. And that's how you draw a necktie. I hope you enjoyed. I'll see you next time.
