To fix a small rust spot on a car, simply use a car polish and cloth to firmly rub off all excess rust. Apply touch-up paint to cover the resulting chip with help from the owner of an auto detail shop in this free video on car maintenance.
Hi my name is Diesel and I am the owner and operator of 4U2C Mobile Auto Detailing here in beautiful Hotlanta, Georgia and here I am going to show you how to get out a small rust spot off your car. Now a lot of times rust, especially newer cars you really don't have too much problems with rust as long as you keep your car waxed of what have you. This van right here seems to have a little rust back here on the paint so what I am going to actually do is use a polish. Now if this was chrome I would use an acid-based cleaner but for actual paint you really don't want to do that so I'm just going to use polish and just get in there as best I can just to clean a lot of the rust out of there. If it's any worse than what I'm doing right now, if the rust is any worse you might want to just go to a body shop and have them actually cut the rust out, but you see I have got the polish in there. I'm using a lot of pressure with my finger just to get as much rust out of that area as possible. The rust is gone, now all we have is a paint chip. After that you might want to go with a little touch-up paint, touch up that area, keep the rust from coming back, pretty much that's how you get rust off the surface of your car.
