The Jonsered 70E chainsaw was first produced in Sweden in 1979 and features a red and silver colour scheme. This chainsaw is suitable for felling trees and cutting off tree limbs. Jonsered has introduced several chainsaw models since the release of the 70E, but replacement parts for Jonsered 70E chainsaws are still available as of 2010.

Engine, cylinders and pistons

This engine has a displacement of 69 cubic centimetres (4.2 cubic inches). It has a single-bore cylinder that is plated in aluminium and chrome and has a diameter of 5 cm (1.968 inches). The piston-ported intake method has a stroke of 3.5 cm (1.378 inches).

The 70E uses Bosch WS7F spark plugs with 0.5 mm (0.02 inch) caps. It takes regular fuel with a fuel-to-oil ratio of 25:1. The chain pitch is 9.5 mm (3/8 inches). The shortest guide bar provided with the chain saw is 40 cm (16 inches), and the longest guide bar supplied is 60 cm (24 inches). The air filter system features a nylon mesh cartridge.
