Cruises Leaving From Southampton, England

Updated March 23, 2017

Southampton is one of three cruise ports in the vicinity of London, along with Dover and Tower Bridge. Southampton is the busiest cruise port in the United Kingdom, often with several ships a day making stops. The port is also the departure port for a range of cruise opportunities aboard some brand new cruise ships.

Cunard Line

Southampton is the home port for the Cunard fleet of cruise ships: the Queen Mary 2, the Queen Elizabeth and the Queen Victoria. From Southampton, Cunard sends the ships out on British Islands, Baltic Sea, Mediterranean, transatlantic and world cruises. The Queen's are luxury liners that carry about 2,500 passengers and all are fairly new. The Queen Mary 2 started sailing in 2004, the Queen Victoria is early 2008 and the new Queen Elizabeth in the fall of 2010.

P&O Cruises also is homebased out of Southampton and is the largest cruise line for the British market. The brand new cruise ship Azura makes regular trips from the port with itineraries to the Baltic Sea and Mediterranean. Once a year the Azura sails transatlantic to Barbados. The Azura can carry 3,100 guests and is one of the few cruise ships with cabins for single passengers.
