Cinderella horse & carriage wedding favor ideas

Cinderella is the quintessential bride, the princess marrying her Prince Charming on the most special day of her life. It's no wonder, then, that fairy tale wedding themes often include aspects of the Cinderella story, complete with a coach riding off into the sunset of happily-ever-after. If you've chosen to bring a fairy tale to life on your wedding day, send your guests home with a Cinderella horse and carriage wedding favour to thank them and serve as a souvenir of your wedding.

Candy-Filled Carriages

Many wedding vendors offer coach-shaped candy containers in a variety of sizes and materials, including plastic, paper, and glass. If you want to keep costs down and do it yourself, create elegant candy boxes from heavy card stock. Use scissors, a craft knife, or a die cutter to cut the front into a Cinderella carriage. Wrap a handful of pastel pillow mints or white Jordan almonds in tulle, tie with a ribbon, and tuck them into the box behind the carriage cutout.

Carriage Coach Candles

Candles and tea light candle holders are among the most popular wedding favours ordered from wedding vendors, and most include a wide variety of fairy tale-themed candles. Pumpkin coach-shaped candles are available, as are votive and tea light candle holders etched or printed with a Cinderella horse and carriage. Some come complete with a presentation box; others need assembly or require you to purchase your own box and ribbon. You may find these at a local craft supply store, though you'll find a far better selection of different styles through an online wedding vendor or favour site.

Candy Cinderella Coaches

If you're putting together your wedding on a do-it-yourself budget, candy moulds and melts can be your best friend. Check with your local craft or cake decorating supply store for plastic Cinderella coach moulds. Wilton, makers of cake and candy-making supplies, makes the Fairy Tale Large Lollipop Mold with a fairy tale castle, princess, and Cinderella carriage (Model 2115-1033).

Make lollipops from white candy melts and paint them with edible paints, then wrap each in cellophane and tie with a ribbon. If lollipops aren't your thing, you can use the mould with air-dry or oven-bake clay to make magnets, or use them to mould soaps. (Just remember not to use them to mould anything edible after you use them to make soap.)

Picture Frame/Place Card Holders

Picture frames that suit your wedding theme can serve a double purpose on your reception tables. Choose porcelain or sterling picture frames that feature a Cinderella coach and horses. Many have room to engrave or print your names and wedding date, or include a hangtag that can be printed with the wedding details. Instead of presenting them in a pretty, wrapped box, slip a wedding place card into each one, and place them on the tables to help your guests find their seats.
