15th birthday ideas & themes for boys

Updated July 19, 2017

A 15-year-old boy might have some definite ideas as to how he wants to celebrate his birthday, but he might want some suggestions. A teen's birthday should include friends, food and a theme to bring cohesiveness to the whole event. Create a memorable 15th birthday by focusing on the birthday boy's hobbies or interests.

Sports Themes and Ideas

A teenage boy is often involved in sports. Use the birthday boy's interest or involvement in sports as an inspiration for a birthday theme. If the 15-year-old boy is interested in football, create a football party for him and his buddies. Turn on the TVs in the house to football games. Let guests play touch football and serve pizza.

For a birthday boy who enjoys all sports, consider an all-sports theme. Set up several televisions around the party venue. Play a different sport on each television. Use a variety of sport ball images in decorations and engage the guests in a game of touch football, shooting baskets or even some batting practice.

Hobby-Inspired Themes and Ideas

By the time most boys turn 15, they have tried a few hobbies and have narrowed their interests to one or two activities they enjoy. If the boy is a musician, for instance, consider a party around that theme. Host the party in a garage and use a "garage band" theme. Have a drum- or guitar-shaped cake. Make "band logo" T-shirts to give as favours.

General Themes and Ideas

Practically any theme can be used for a 15-year-old boy's birthday party celebration. Consider a Hawaiian luau party. Hold the celebration on the beach. Give guests leis for favours and have a limbo contest. You can also hold a Hawaiian-themed party at a pool and allow guests to swim and enjoy some pool volleyball.

Consider a dance party for a 15-year-old's birthday. Choose today's music and lively decorations to create a festive atmosphere. Hire a DJ or rent a karaoke machine to add to the fun.

A Destination

Create a destination party for a 15-year-old boy's birthday. Find an age-appropriate and exciting destination that is about an hour to an hour and a half away. Let him invite some friends to visit the destination; make sure plenty of adults go, too. Sporting events and live performances also provide interesting activities for a 15-year-old's birthday party.
