Let your boyfriend find his way to Valentine's Day with a scavenger hunt that keeps him guessing. Whatever your boyfriend's interests, you can plan a customised Valentine's Day scavenger hunt that speaks to his masculinity without losing the romance of the occasion. Whether it is cars, food, or sports, you can turn your boyfriend's hobby into a Valentine's hide-and-seek that is sure to melt his heart.

Gaming Hunt

If your guy plays video games, set up a hunt leading him to a new game disk. Keep him wondering with clues that won't give away the big surprise. For example, if your boyfriend prefers combat games, lead him to a new disk with authentic army accessories. Visit an army surplus store for a wide variety of low-cost supplies you can incorporate into the hunt. Let each item be a clue to the next. For example, a pair of army-issue socks might lead to combat boots, and trip wire can represent a warning for "danger" ahead, such as "enemy territory" defended with plastic army men.

Let the final clue lead directly to the gaming console where you already have the disk loaded. Remind your boyfriend that "All is fair in love and war," and that he owes you a Valentine's kiss before the game begins.

Outdoor Hunt

For the outdoors man who loves to go camping, hide small camping accessories at specific locations in a large backyard or wooded area and tell your boyfriend he will need a compass for this scavenger hunt. Put his orienteering skills to the test with a course that includes several points where your boyfriend is rewarded with a treat for camping such as a new pocket knife, lantern, or flashlight. For example, you can write up a course indicating location points such as, "Take 10 paces to 20 degrees north." Have a treat hidden in each location, and when your boyfriend finds a surprise, he can advance to the next point such as, "Take 5 paces to 15 degrees east," where the next gift is hidden. At the last location of the course, hide the most exciting surprise, such as a subzero sleeping bag or a new tent.

Car Show

If it is cars that make your boyfriend's heart race, plan in advance to treat him to a local car show. Set up this scavenger hunt with clues leading to the tickets for the show. You can include a model car kit, brochures on your boyfriend's favourite automobiles, and chocolate car candies. Make the final clue romantic with the suggestion of going "parking" at a safe, scenic location. Hide the car show tickets in the glove box or console and tell your boyfriend the final clue: there is more to "parking" than meets the eye, and if he acts like a gentleman, you will tell him why! Give him a kiss, then open the glove box and hand him the tickets.

First Dinner Date Recreated

Plan to take your boyfriend out to the same restaurant he took you on your first date. Handwrite clues about things that happened on that date and include candy hearts and chocolates with each note. You might write just one sentence about the weather, or something funny that your boyfriend said, but try to make the clues difficult to keep the scavenger hunt going. Hide the clues throughout your boyfriend's home, and make them lead eventually to the car where you will announce that you will be his driver for the evening. When your boyfriend finally figures it out, tell him the only thing that's different this time is that dinner is going to be your treat.
