The Blackberry Bold 9700, manufactured by Research in Motion, is a smartphone with built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth technology. Among the features available on the Bold are a camera, video camera, music player and Web browser. There are times when you may wish to hide your identity when making calls on your Bold. You can change your phone's settings to hide your identity permanently, without the need for a third-party app.

Push the "Send" key while the Blackberry Bold is powered on.
Scroll down to highlight "Options" and select it with the trackball.
Select "General Options" when it appears. This is the first option and is highlighted by default.
Scroll down to the "Restrict My Identity" section, click to call up the options available and select "Always." This is the only option that ensures your number will not be displayed.
Press "Menu" again.
Scroll down to and select "Save" to keep your changes.
Tips and warnings
- Your other options are to choose "Never," the default option which always shows your phone number, or "Network Determined," which allows the Blackberry network to make the decision to display your number or not.
