Visit the online Nike store (store.nike.com) and choose the customise option to begin the customisation process. You can search for shoe styles to customise or browse shoes by gender or the sports for which they are designed. When choosing a shoe to customise, focus on the style instead of the colours in the pictures, because all colours can be changed.
Once you have chosen a shoe to customise, click on its picture. Choose the "start blank" option to begin the customisation process with a plain white shoe. When the blank shoe appears on the screen, click on each part of the shoe to choose customised colours. You can customise every element of the shoe from the shank to the tongue. The website offers a pull-down menu on the right of the screen to make sure that you have customised every possible element and track your progress.
Once you have finished customising your shoe, use the display options on the website to view your customised shoes from nearly every possible angle and make sure that they appear as you want. Shoes can be rotated to show all sides and the bottom of the shoe. Options also exist to show a pair of the customised shoes. If you like what you see, choose the size, gender and quantity and click on the "add to cart" button.
Once your shoes are added to your cart, follow the steps for the checkout process. You can choose to create an account with Nike or checkout as a guest. The transaction can be completed with a credit/debit card or a PayPal account. Shipping is free and orders should arrive in approximately four weeks.
