The Koss PortaPro headphone is a lightweight collapsible stereo headphone that has cushions not only on its earpiece but also on each side above the earpiece. This model was introduced in 1984 and it remains current and widely available on the Internet and from local retailers, as well as directly from Koss. The extra pads are included to ensure a tight, yet comfortable fit, and two adjustment bars facilitate adjustment to each user. The position switches for the pads above the earpiece let you choose between a tighter and looser overall fit.

Instructions

  1. 1

Open the headphones if they are collapsed by gently swinging each earpiece out so that it is parallel with the headband.

  2. 2

Adjust the headband using the two black slide bars at the top of the headband until the band is opened to a position that is large enough for your head.

  3. 3

Place the headphones on your head by gently pulling on each ear cushion before placing the band on your head so that the earpieces are lined up over your ears. Make sure you put the left headphone on your left ear and the right on your right. If done correctly, the round ear cushions should face you.

  4. 4

Pull down gently on each ear cushion, or push it up to further adjust the headband so that it is larger or smaller as needed.

  5. 5

Slide the lever on each side cushion pad to either firm, medium or light fit, depending on whether you want a tight fit for security (recommended for use when exercising), a standard headphone fit or a loose, relaxed fit.

  6. 6

Plug the headphone into your audio device. Insert the plug in the 1/4-inch adaptor if you are using a home audio amplifier or other device with a larger jack.

  7. 7

Turn your device on as usual and readjust the headphones if need be at any time while you are listening by repeating Steps Four and Five.
