Bracelets may be rigid or slinky, adorning your wrist and adding a splash of colour to your gestures. When storing your bracelets, you don't need to leave them in a messy jumble or tucked away in velvet jewellery bags. Make a bracelet stand from a tree branch to display your favourite bracelets when you are not wearing them.

Instructions

  1. 1

Pick up a fallen branch with wide spreading twigs from your yard. Choose branches that are sturdy and dry.

  2. 2

Remove the bark from the branch using a utility knife.

  3. 3

Remove any protruding twigs. You will be hanging your bracelets from the branches, so clip away any branches that are too small.

  4. 4

Spray paint the branch to protect it. Use a white spray paint for a strong, bright contrast to your room, or use black or brown for a more conservative choice.

  5. 5

Allow the branch to dry, and add another coat of paint if necessary.

  6. 6

Cut a piece of floral foam that will fit snugly into a flower pot.

  7. 7

Stick the floral foam into the flower pot, wedging it in so that it does not budge.

  8. 8

Push the blunt end of the branch into the floral foam, pressing it down until the floral foam holds the branch erect.

  9. 9

Drape the base of the branch with a scrap of velvet fabric, hiding the floral foam. Hang your bracelets from the branches.

Tips and warnings

  • Avoid using branches that have too many small twigs or that have thorns.
  • Take the branch outside before spray painting to reduce the mess.
