Plug the Miele coffee maker into a power supply if the entire machine is not operating and nothing shows in the display panel. Reset or replace the fuse or circuit breaker as needed.
Press "Power" if there is power to the unit but the light is not illuminated.
Turn off and unplug the coffee maker if no steam exits the steam nozzle when expected. Use a straight pin to carefully clean the opening of the steam nozzle. A toothpick can also be used.
Wait for the machine to stop grinding if the grinder sounds low in tone and there is not enough coffee in the container. Open the coffee bean container and fill with coffee beans.
Turn the coffee machine off if the display shows "Fill coffee beans" but there are beans in the grinder, indicating that the system has overheated. Wait several minutes to allow the motor to cool before restoring power.
Close the door on the machine fully if the coffee machine suddenly stops working. Note that the system may automatically shut off if the water temperature is too high and will resume when the water cools.
