How to Reset a HP 895cxi Printer

Updated February 21, 2017

While the HP 895cxi is a useful desktop printer, it does have a few potential quirks. One of those quirks is a tendency to print page after page of nonsense characters. When this happens, the best way you can avoid wasted paper and ink is to reset the printer. This clears out the pages in memory and stops the 895Cxi from printing these nonsense characters. After you reset the printer, you can return to normal printing.

Press the "Power" button on the front of the printer to turn the unit off. Wait for the green light to turn off.

Pull out the power cord from the back of the HP 895cxi. Leave the unit unplugged for at least 5 to 10 minutes.

Plug the printer back in power it on. This resets the printer and it is ready for use.
