Umbrellas are sometimes used for wedding decorations. There are a few theme ideas, such as a wedding based on "Singing in the Rain" or an outdoor beach wedding, which make the use of an umbrella appropriate for the wedding. There are a few basic uses of umbrellas for wedding decorations that can add an element of beauty or humour.

    Use the umbrella as a chandelier. Put the umbrella up with lights shining through it. For a chandelier umbrella, a delicate parasol will allow the light through while creating a romantic atmosphere.

    Set up umbrellas in bright yellow around the reception room with some hanging, some on the walls and some set up in corners or out of the way spaces on the floor. This brings in bright colours to the wedding while also putting several umbrellas around the room for a rain inspired wedding theme.

    Place the umbrellas upside down and fill them with gifts, flowers or ribbons. The umbrella becomes a decorative piece which performing the function of holding an item like the flowers or gifts.
