How to Send an SMS in PDU Mode

SMS, or short message service, is a form of texting. Protocol Data Unit (PDU) is a file format that lets you send SMS messages over a variety of networks. Sending in PDU mode works with any kind of cell phone. Even though you encrypt your PDU SMS message over the network, the recipient will still be able to read it.

Instructions

    Press the "Menu" button. Press the right arrow key to navigate to "Text Messages" or "Messages." Press the "OK" button.

    Enter AT+CMGS=yyyy in the "To:" field. Use the recipient's 10-digit mobile number in the "yyyy" field. Press the "Enter" key.

    Enter your message in the "Compose Text:" field. Verify that your message is at least 160 characters or less.

  4. 4

    Press "Ctrl" and "Z" simultaneously. Your message will send in the PDU mode.

Tips and warnings

  • You still will receive charges for sending and receiving SMS messages.
