You can clear the data from your BlackBerry for a number of purposes. Wiping info from your device allows you to erase personal information if you are selling your BlackBerry and can serve as a troubleshooting technique if the phone is experiencing hardware or software problems. Hook your BlackBerry into a computer using a USB cord to wipe it if the power will not turn on when you use your charger.

Access the BlackBerry website. (See Resources.) Click "Download for PC." Follow the step-by-step instructions on the site to download the corresponding software for your BlackBerry model to your Windows 7-based computer.
Connect the USB cord to your BlackBerry and to one of the USB ports on your computer.
Click the green "Start" icon in the lower-left corner of your Windows 7 desktop. Click "Computer" in the menu that appears to access hardware and disk drive information. Click "C-Drive," then click "Program Files" within the "C-Drive" option. Find and click the "Apploader.exe" folder listed under "Program Files."
Search inside the "Apploader.exe" folder to find the command box. Type "loader.exe /resettofactory" inside the command box to wipe your BlackBerry.
Leave your BlackBerry connected to the computer for at least one hour to complete the erasing process. The time it takes to wipe a BlackBerry depends on the amount of data stored on your device.
