Garry's Mod, known as "GMod" for short, is an open-ended modification to the critically acclaimed Half-Life 2 computer game by Valve Software. The third-party modification relies heavily on the creative forces of its users, as the game features an endless amount of constructible pieces that can be combined to create an infinite amount of game scenarios. The experimental nature of the game modification is what makes Garry's Mod a unique and interesting gaming experience. Setting up a GMod server is done through the Steam Client utilities, which is a platform released by Valve software that allows users to connect to game servers.
