How to Copy the Contacts From the HTC Touch

The HTC Touch is a smartphone that uses the Windows Mobile 6 operating system. The device can store detailed contact information for a large number of people. If you want to upgrade to a newer handset and have lots of contact information on your HTC Touch, you can easily transfer it to your new handset.

Instructions

    Access your HTC Touch's Start menu. Select "Programs," then "SIM Manager."

    Tap "Menu" on the touchscreen, followed by "Tools" and the "Options" button.

    Choose which categories of contact information you want to copy to your SIM card by tapping the checkboxes next to the category name. When you have selected your categories, tap "OK."

    Tap "Menu," then select "Contacts to SIM."

    Choose the contacts you want to copy to your SIM card and tap "Save."

    Remove the SIM card from your HTC Touch. Insert it into your new handset, and your contacts will be visible on your new handset.

    Download and install Microsoft ActiveSync on your PC if you do not already have it (see "Resources").

    Connect the HTC Touch to your PC using the supplied USB cable.

    Navigate to "Programs" in the Start menu of your handset, then select "ActiveSync."

    Tap "Menu" and select "Options." In this screen, you can choose to sync contacts and other data.

    Tap "Sync," and your HTC Touch will copy your contacts to your PC.
