Store-bought frosting comes in a variety of flavours, such as chocolate, vanilla, fudge, cream cheese and butter, so you'll have no problem finding one that complements your cake or cookies. If you have a package of frosting, simply stir it with a spoon to make it soft and spreadable. Storing leftover store-bought frosting in a refrigerator may make it a little less soft, but there are ways to make it fluffy and spreadable again.

Instructions

  1. 1

Allow refrigerated store-bought frosting sit out at room temperature for an hour prior to using so it warms ups and softens.

  2. 2

Stir the room temperature frosting with a spoon thoroughly to make it soft and spreadable.

  3. 3

Enhance a brand new package of frosting with frozen whipped topping, such as Cool Whip, to make it extra soft and fluffy: Transfer the frosting to a mixing bowl and stir it with spoon. Fold in one cup of thawed whipped topping to create a softer, lighter texture.
