How to Change the Date on a Toy Watch

Updated April 17, 2017

There is no one specific procedure for changing the date on a toy watch, because toy watches are made by many manufacturers. The general idea is often the same; however the precise details may vary. Using the example of two top kids watch manufacturers, Timex and Nike, you may get the general idea of how the task is accomplished on other watch brands.

Press and hold the "Set" button located on the top-left side of the Timex toy watch until the digital display shows the hour flashing. This is an indication that you may adjust the watch's hour setting.

Continuously press the "Mode" button located on the bottom-left side of the Timex toy watch until the watch's digital display shows the year, month, or day flashing. This is an indication that you may adjust the watch's year, month, or day setting respectively.

Press the button located on the bottom-right side of the watch (sometimes labelled "Start/Stop" if the watch is equipped with a stopwatch function) to change the settings value.

Push the "Mode" button again to move to the next date value. Repeat Step 3.

Repeat Step 4 for the next date value.

Press the "Set" button to exit the watch's Time Mode.
