BMW's E36 is a compact sedan that was produced throughout the 1990s. BMW equipped it with an on-board computer capable of making many calculations. It can display outside temperature, average speed, estimated cruising range, average fuel consumption, distance to destination, speed limit warning and a timer. It also allows the driver to enter a four-digit immobilisation code to prevent vehicle theft. Calculations based on time use the information from the digital clock, which is manually set.
