Some models of Honda Civic contain a manual transmission. The 2002 hatchback model is one type of vehicle that has this transmission. This means that the vehicle has a shifter and shift bulb that can be replaced with an aftermarket or custom shift bulb. Removal of the shift bulb requires no tools, so you can try any number of shift bulbs easily at the store until you find one that you like.

    Put on a pair of gloves that will help your grip and protect your hands.

    Rotate the shift bulb counterclockwise until it comes off.

    Hold the new shift bulb onto the threaded part of the shift knob. Turn it clockwise until it is snug.
