The passenger mirror on the Toyota Rav4 attaches to the side of the door using three threaded studs and three locknuts. The nuts are located inside the door, hidden behind an access panel. Because there is an access panel, you do not have to take the door apart. This makes the task of replacing the passenger mirror on the Rav4 much easier.

Locate the access panel on the inner door directly opposite the mounting location of the passenger mirror. Pull the cover off the inner door panel using your fingers.
Pull the wiring harness located behind the panel out of the inner door and disconnect it.
Remove the three nuts that secure the mirror to the side of the door using a socket and ratchet. Hold the mirror in place while you do this to prevent it from falling out of the door to the ground.
Pull the old mirror away from the door and place the threaded studs of the new mirror through the holes in the door.
Thread the three nuts onto the threaded studs with your fingers and then tighten them using your socket and ratchet.
Reconnect the wiring harness and then tuck it back into the inner door panel.
Place the access cover back onto the inner door panel and press it into place.
