How to Mirror Monitors in Catalyst
Mirror the display onto dual monitors using ATI Catalyst Control Center software. (monitors image by Orlando Florin Rosu from

ATI-based video cards use a control centre program called ATI catalyst. This graphic card software offers deeper user control over the graphic settings and display options than what is normally found in your standard operating system menu. If you have a dual monitor set-up, use the ATI catalyst control centre to mirror one display onto the second monitor. This will give you two monitors showing the exact-same display view at the same time.

  1. 1

Make sure the second monitor is connected to your PC, then restart the computer so that it will recognise the new attached device.

  2. 2

Click "Start," then "All Programs," then select "ATI Catalyst Control Panel" to start the program. Alternatively, you can right-click on any empty space on your Windows Desktop and select "ATI Catalyst Control Center" from the pop-up screen.

  3. 3

Click the "Advanced" option, and click "Next." If you already have the control centre set up to view advanced settings, you won't need this step.

  4. 4

Click "Display manager" in the left-hand pane, and then click "Display Properties."

  5. 5

Click "Detect Displays" if you do not see both monitors listed.

  6. 6

Click on the "Selected Display on ATI YOUR MODEL CARD" list and select "Clone Display" ("YOUR MODEL CARD" represents the name of the ATI card installed on your PC). Click "Apply to save these settings; now both monitors will show the same display, resolution and properties.
