How to disable acronis loader on bootup

Updated February 21, 2017

Acronis OS Selector is a utility that allows you to easily partition your computer and install multiple operating systems. When you have multiple operating systems installed on a hard drive, you select which operating system to load on each start up. The Acronis Boot Loader is the utility that helps you select the desired OS. If you've removed the other operating system partitions and the Boot Loader is still loading at start-up, you will need to repair the Windows Boot Loader.

Insert the Windows Setup disc into the computer and restart. Boot from the disc by following the instructions on screen when presented.

Select your language and keyboard layout.

Select "Repair your computer." Select your currently installed operating system. The System Recovery Options window will appear, select "Command Prompt."

Type "Bootrec.exe /FixMbr" and hit Enter. Once the commands complete, the Windows Boot Loader should be repaired, removing the Acronis Boot Loader. Restart the computer. If performed successfully, the Acronis Boot Loader will no longer appear.
