How to Make the Sony KDL-32XBR9 Have Variable Audio Out

The Sony KDL-32BR9 is a 32-inch high-definition television with several audio outputs including RCA, HDMI and digital audio out. With the different audio output options, you are able to connect multiple devices to the TV at the same time. This includes a stereo and surround sound system. With multiple audio devices connected, you have the option to vary what sound device carries and produces the Sony TV's audio.

Instructions

  1. 1

    Plug the RCA audio cables into the red and white RCA out cables on the rear of the Sony KDL-32XBR9. Insert the opposite ends of the cables into the "RCA In" port on the speaker system. Select the "Auxiliary" input option and the audio begins to play through the connected equipment.

    Insert the HDMI cable into one of the "HDMI Out" ports on the Sony TV. This is a high-definition audio cable connection. Plug this into an HD audio receiver. Choose "HDMI" on the HD hook up and the HD audio begins to play through the speaker system.

    Connect the digital optical audio cable into the "Digital Audio Out" port on the Sony KDL-32BR9. Plug the opposite end of the digital optical audio cable into the "Digital Audio In" port on the surround sound system. Select "Digital Audio" on the receiver and the audio from the Sony TV now begins to play on the third connected device.
