How to Delete My Text History on My Samsung Phone

Updated February 21, 2017

Deleting the text message history on your Samsung cell phone can help make more of your phone's memory available. Some Samsung cell phones require that you delete old text messages in order to receive new text messages. Instead of going through your text messages and spending the time to delete them one by one, you can delete the entire text history with the push of a few buttons.

Press the "Menu" key on your phone's keypad.

Select the "Messaging" option.

Press the "Menu" key again.

Select the "Folders" option.

Highlight the "Folders" option.

Press the "Menu" key on your phone's keypad.

Select the "Clear Text Messages" option.

Press the "OK/Yes" key on your phone's keypad to confirm this choice.

Each Samsung cell phone may vary slightly and it may be necessary to consult your cell phone's user guide for further instruction.
