How to Replace a Fujitsu Laptop Key

Updated April 17, 2017

The keyboard on a Fujitsu laptop is similar those of most other laptops. Individual keys that have been damaged may be removed from the top of the keyboard and replaced. Disassembly of the computer is not required.

Open your Fujitsu laptop, but do not turn it on.

Use the tip of a small flathead screwdriver to pop the damaged key out of its spot on the keyboard. Turn the key over to expose the plastic hinge inside.

Use the tip of the screwdriver to remove the plastic hinge from inside the key. Notice the plastic hooks on the corners and sides of the hinge.

Fit the hinge over the empty spot on the keyboard, making sure that each plastic hook connects to the appropriate tab protruding from the key space.

Fit the new key over the hinge and gently press down until it snaps into place.
