How to Override a BIOS Password in a Toshiba Tecra M2

Updated February 21, 2017

If you've forgotten the password you've assigned to your Toshiba Tecra M2 BIOS and need to get into this important configuration utility you have two options. One is that you could wrack your brain in an attempt to remember this all-important password. The second is that you can just use the default backdoor password that was set for your BIOS at the factory level. This will override the password you set manually and allow you to access the BIOS on your Toshiba Tecra M2.

Turn on your Toshiba Tecra M2.

Press "ESC" to enter your Tecra's boot screen.

Press "F2" to access your Tecra's BIOS. You will be prompted to enter a password.

Type "Toshiba" into the password box and hit "Enter" to override your existing password and access your BIOS.
