How to Delete the Zhengbo Virus

Updated February 21, 2017

The Zhengbo virus edits your system's "Autorun" file and spreads through removable media, making it very difficult to eliminate. It infects any external USB or hard disk drives that you plug into your computer. With a good antivirus program and awareness of what to look for in your system registry you may remove Zhengbo.

Scan your main hard drive using an antivirus program.

Delete any malicious files the scan reveals.

Type "regedit" into your "Run" box and press "OK" to open the system registry.

Search through the registry for filenames with "adware," "Trojan," "Autorun.INF," "Zhengbo" or a series of nonsensical letters and numbers. You may do this by clicking on folders in the left panel and viewing the folder contents in the right panel.

Right-click on any malicious files and click "Delete" from the box that pops up.

"Save" changes to your system registry by clicking that button in the "File" drop-down menu.
