Most Mitsubishi Monteros use bulbs in the headlight, rather than having a solid headlight. The headlight assembly is located between the turn signal light and the grille. You should also change the bulbs when replacing the headlight assembly. The assembly is attached to the truck's front clip, which is the entire front body panel, and is held in place with four bolts, two on each side of the headlight. No special tools are needed for this task, which can be done is less than an hour's time.
