Updated April 17, 2017

Connect your Dell Latitude D610 to an external monitor to add another layer of functionality to the computer. For instance, use an external monitor to enjoy the benefits of a larger screen. Or pair an external display with your Latitude D610 screen for a dual monitor set-up. The Dell Latitude supports two video connection types: VGA and S-video. Examine the video ports on your external monitor to determine which video cable to use.

Connect one end of the video cable to its corresponding port on the external monitor.

Plug the other end of the video cable into the appropriate video port on your laptop. The video ports are located on the back panel of the D610. The laptop will automatically detect the external monitor.

Press the "Fn" and "F8" buttons on your keyboard to switch the video image from displaying only on the laptop screen to only displaying on the external monitor to displaying on the laptop screen and the external monitor simultaneously.
