The Kodak 5300 EasyShare All-in-One is a photo and document printer that also scans and copies. The 5300 uses two ink cartridges to print. The printhead applies the ink from the cartridges to materials such as photo, letter, cardstock or specialised paper, transparency film and iron-ons. Ink can accumulate on the printhead, resulting in print-quality issues such as fading, blank spots and lines, and spotting. When that happens it is necessary to clean the printhead.

Tips and warnings

  • To issue a command to clean the printhead from your computer instead of through the printer control panel, open the printer Home Center on your computer. Open the Help Panel by clicking the question mark icon in the upper right corner of the application window, select "Maintenance" under General Links and click "Printhead Cleaning" to begin the cleaning process.
