Building a bridge for your model train or other landscape can seem like a daunting task but it isn't. Build a sturdy bridge with only 100 Popsicle sticks and some hot glue. Hot glue hardens quickly, unlike other glues that have to dry before they hold. A package of Popsicle sticks usually contains sticks that are all the same size so you don't have worry about fitting in odd sizes. This is an excellent activity for a family or a children's group.

Lay four sections of 10 Popsicle sticks each out on your work surface in a vertical position.
Glue two sticks to sections 1 and 2, placing half of the stick horizontally on the right half of section 1 and the other half on section 2. Place one in the upper middle and one on the lower middle.
Glue on two more Popsicle sticks horizontally across the left half of section 2 and the right half of section 3.
Glue two more sticks horizontally on the right half of section 3 and the left half of section 4. Turn this entire section over when the glue hardens. This is the centre of the bridge.
Build a brace for each end of the bridge by gluing together five sticks in a stack. Glue the stacks to the underneath sides of the bridge on the ends
Create two railings for the sides of the bridge by gluing four Popsicle sticks horizontally along the outside edges of the bridge centre. Glue five vertical sticks to this rail. Space them evenly, as if you were building a fence. Attach four more sticks across the five upright sticks. Build the same thing on the other side of the bridge.
Glue the tops of two sticks to the bottom rail of the bridge sides. Place one in the centre of the left side and one in the centre of the right half. Add two Popsicle sticks on the other side the same way.
