How to Make a Bald Cap Clown Wig

Updated March 23, 2017

If you are thinking of going to a party of other occasion dressed as a clown, you will find that you can easily avoid the expense of purchasing or renting a costume by making it yourself. A clown's costume can, for the most part, be quickly assembled from bits and pieces from your closet. Though you might think you have to purchase a wig, you can make one fairly simply.

Cut pieces of yarn to the length you want for the hair. You will need a lot of these. You do not have to use one colour. For example, you might want the hair of the sides to be white, and the hair on the top blue.

Place the skull cap on a person who is about the same size as the person who will be wearing it. Pick up one of the pieces of knitting yarn, place some glue on the end and glue it to the base of the skull cap in the back. Continue this process, working you way in a line across back of the scull cap.

Let the line of hairs you have glued dry for a few minutes. Then add more layers above this, filling out the back of the head.

Repeat this process for the sides. Finally, add the hairs to the top.

Things You'll Need
