How to Make Homemade Shaving Soap

Instead of purchasing shaving soap at the store, make your own old-fashioned shaving soap at home. Homemade shaving soap will not irritate your skin because it does not contain harsh preservatives and chemicals. Making your own shaving soap will help the environment and save you money. Once you make your own shaving soap, you can give it away as gifts to friends and family members with the recipe to encourage them to make their own at home as well.

Cut the glycerine soap into small 1/2-inch pieces. Place the glycerine soap into a measuring cup until you have 1/4 cup.

Place the glycerine soap into a double boiler on medium-low heat. Once the soap melts, add 1/2 tsp of sunflower oil. Stir until the oil mixes with the soap.

Add 10 drops of your preferred fragrance oil. Mix the fragrance oil until it blends well.

Pour the melted soap into a decorative coffee mug.

Allow the soap to cool. Place a shaving brush on top of the hardened and cool soap.
