How to Use a Shark Steam Mop on Carpet

Updated February 21, 2017

A Shark Steam Mop is primarily used to steam clean wood flooring, linoleum and tile, using just water. A Shark Steam Mop comes with an attachment, called a carpet glider attachment, that allows the mop to glide on carpet. The mop should only be used to freshen up carpet using steam, and not for stain removal or full carpet cleaning.

Fill the water tank. Turn the cap on the water tank counter clockwise to loosen. Lift up to remove the cap.

Place the funnel into the hole in the water tank. Fill the flask with warm water. Pour the water into the funnel. Fill the water tank to the max fill line. Place the cap back on the water tank. Tighten the cap by turning it clockwise.

Attach the Shark Steam Mop head to the microfibre cleaning pad.

Put the mop head and cleaning pad on top of the carpet glider. Gently press until the carpet glider is fully attached to the mop head.

Plug the Shark Steam Mop into the wall. Turn it on.

Push the mop in a forward and backward motion, releasing steam as you push. Continue until your carpet is freshened.
