The job of a nightclub promoter is to create public awareness of a club. Promoters open the venue up to a targeted age range or select group of people. Nightclub owners and operators depend on promotions to keep their club running and profits growing. Basically, nightclub promoters market the club, hand out tickets, and try to get prospective patrons to attend the club. Starting a nightclub promotion business primarily entails hiring a group of promoters who will bring results to various venues.

Skill level:

  1. 1

Acquire clients. Approach the nightclub general manager and ask about promoting the club. Supply written or verbal information about your experience. If possible, list references to verify your successful promotion nights. Convey your creative promotion ideas and how they will bring business to the club.

  2. 2

Find your niche. Choose a target audience. After promoting a few events, decide an area to concentrate on. Select an area that you perform the best in. For example, if the 21-30 year old group brings the most revenue to your clients, then stick with it.

  3. 3

Hire a hardworking street team. Your crew should consist of people who hand out flyers, talk to people and convince them to attend the club. Scout different nightclub parking lots, bars and special events to launch your marketing efforts.

  4. 4

Spread the word. Inform family and friends of your new business. Convince them to attend your promotional nights. Open Myspace and Facebook accounts. Utilise these social networking sites to add internet friends and keep them informed of your weekly promotions. Create free virtual tickets and send them to friends' e-mail addresses. Market your business at every opportunity. Hand out business cards and flyers at all functions.
