Microsoft Outlook 2007 is part of the Office suite, and its calendar function automatically opens with your personal default calendar. You can change the default view to show more calendars in addition to the calendar associated with the mail delivery location -- a mailbox in Exchange or a folder in the active Inbox folder. Outlook remembers what was open when it was last closed. Change the default Outlook calendar view if you want to display both your personal calendar and office calendar, for example.

Open Outlook and click the "Calendar" option. Click the check box associated with the calendar you want to display. Both calendars will appear side-by-side.
Right-click on the calendar name on the calendar tab and select the "View in Overlay Mode" option. Your default view contains the appointments and meetings for both calendars. Right-click again and select the "View in Side-by-Side Mode" option to return to the previous display. Alternatively, right-click and click the "Open in New Window" option to open the calendar in a new window.
Add a personal calendar -- for example, an Internet Calendar such as a Google calendar -- and load the calendar when you open Outlook. Identify the "iCal" Web address by clicking the "Setting" option from your Google calendar and then selecting the "Calendar Settings" option. Click the "Calendars" tab and click the "Share this Calendar" link. Click the "Calendar Details" table and right-click on the iCal button of the "Calendar Address" (public) or "Private Address" field. Copy the link location.
Click the "Data Management" option from the "File" menu in Outlook and click the "Internet Calendars" option. Click the "New" button and press "Ctrl-V" to paste the location. Click the "Add" button and choose "Close."
Click "Tools" and select "Options." Click the "Other" tab and choose "Advanced Options." Click "Browse" and select your Internet calendar as the start-up folder.
Click the "Folder" icon in the left Outlook pane. Right-click on the calendar "Properties" option. Click "Home Page" and enter the address of your calendar. Select the "Show home page by default for this folder" check box. Click "OK." This allows you to not only view your Internet calendar but modify it as well.
