Bring the ends of the jewelry piece toward each other. One end has a circular ring and the other end has a straight bar.
Position the bar so it aligns (sits parallel) with the beads of the bracelet or necklace and insert the bar through the ring completely.
Push the bar all the way through the ring until it clears the ring completely.
Position the bar so it no longer aligns with the beads of the bracelet or necklace, but instead it sits perpendicularly.
Pull the bar back so it catches on the ring. When the bar sits perpendicularly, it will not pass through the ring.
Undo the toggle clasp by pushing the bar further through the ring again and positioning it so it aligns again with the beads of the bracelet or necklace. Pull the bar straight out through the ring.
