How to Convert MP3 to AA Format

If you are using the Kindle audiobook reader or are interested in having your audio files be more accessible to certain electronic devices, it is beneficial to convert your mp3 music or audio formats to an .aa audible format. Handbrake, a free, open-source program, can easily rip DVDs to your computer or convert media formats as needed.

Download and install Handbrake. There is a link in the Resources section of this article.

Click the Handbrake icon on your toolbar. Choose and open the "Detected Volume" option from the selection screen. Be sure the volume is set to the "Stereo" option.

Select the direct path of the mp3 file you want to convert.

Choose the .aa audio file under the audio portion of the "File Formats" section.

Click the small tab next to the "Target Path" option on the right side of the screen. Select a directory path for where you want your AAC audio files saved.

Choose "Rip" to begin converting the mp3 to .aa audible format.
