The Rolex Daytona is named after the famous Daytona International Speedway and is specially designed to meet the needs of professional drivers. The Daytona has an automatic movement, which means is self-winds with the natural movement of the wearer's wrist. The watch features the Triplock crown, which makes it water resistant up to 100 meters. The Triplock crown is present only on the Rolex Submariner, Sea-Dweller and Daytona.

  1. 1

Unscrew the crown--located on the side of the watch at the 3 o'clock position--by turning it counterclockwise. You will feel the crown pop out and into position 2 when it is unscrewed. (The crown is in position 1 when it is screwed down.)

  2. 2

Turn the crown clockwise while it is in position 2 to manually wind the watch. Although the Daytona is self-winding, it will stop if it has not been worn or put in a watch winder for roughly two days. You will feel tension in the crown when the watch is done winding.

  3. 3

Pull the crown out one notch to position 3 to change the time. Turn the crown clockwise to move the minute hand.

  4. 4

Push the crown back into the watch while turning it clockwise to return the crown to position 1. The crown should be tight to ensure the watch case is waterproof.

  5. 5

Operate the stopwatch and chronograph function by pressing the button located above the crown on the 3 o'clock side of the watch. The counter on the watch face at 9 o'clock measures hours, the counter at 3 o'clock measures minutes, and the counter at 6 o'clock is one full second. Stop the stopwatch by pressing the top button again. Reset the stopwatch by pressing the button below the crown.
