Sony's MP3 players are not as complicated as other devices such as the iPod. Sony's players operate like a flash storage device. You can simply plug them in, and then drag and drop data to be saved without the aid of software. Creating a playlist for one of Sony's MP3 devices is as simple as creating a folder, which can then be downloaded and saved onto the device.
- Skill level:
Create a new music folder on your computer by right-clicking anywhere on your desktop and select "New Folder."
Rename the folder to the intended name of your playlist. For example, if you want all Michael Jackson songs featured on one playlist, you might want to name the folder "Michael Jackson." Repeat the process to make additional folders that will become your playlists.
Populate the playlist by dragging and dropping your audio files into the folders you just created.
Plug in your Sony MP3 player with the USB cable, and wait for Windows Explorer to recognise it.
Click on your device icon in "My Computer" to open it up.
Drag and drop your newly created folder into the "Music" folder inside your Sony device. The folders with its corresponding audio files will download to your MP3 player. The folder names will become your new playlists.
